I wanted to animate each of the curved parts separately so made each one a separate component on Sketchup. However, as I now had a lot of overlapping components (where the curved parts meet) Cryengine didn't like it and mover some of my components to make this interesting spikey version of my model.
I found that it was difficult to inhabit as the space was messy and i could only get a few good views.
Playing with lighting
Moving the components to line them up where they were supposed to be
Views of "fixed" model with lighting
My favourite view of "fixed" model
When I animated this model, i wanted to rotate the individual "petals" like opening a flower then rotate them back. I maganged to do this however it lags...I don't know if this is because I may have done the flow chart wrong (i just played around 'till it worked) or if I had other issues (I thought it may have been because the petals intersected each other while moving however i separated them and it still lagged ruling out this possibility).
